In Our Backyards...

Whether your backyard is large or small, urban or rural, even if you don't have a backyard, you can make an environmental difference where you live.

The earth is big.  Our environmental problems are big.  And each of us is so small.  So it's easy to give up: to think that it's not worth trying, that our actions don't matter. We've all been there. And that's why I've created this website. I don't want anyone to give up because now, more than ever, we need everyone to work together to tackle the looming environmental crises.

But its not all doom and gloom; living sustainably can be interesting, rewarding and, yes, even fun. I want to show everyone the exciting environmental stuff that's happening “in our backyards” right now, right under our noses. I want to appreciate all of the things, little or big, that your neighbour, the person you see at the grocery store, or maybe even you are doing to make the world a healthier, cleaner, better place.

Maybe by knowing that other people care, that others are trying too, we can all be inspired to try a little harder and do a little more.

Because, if we all try, we can make a difference “in our backyards” and beyond.
