You can vote, kids can't. Use your superpower for the ultimate good: creating a healthy earth. Let's all take responsibility for our mess and vote for a party that takes environmental issues seriously. If you care about the earth, don't vote strategically and don't vote out of fear; make your vote count and vote for the Green Party of Canada.

I know that we've just met and usually, "How do you do?" followed by, "Let's talk politics..." is a recipe for disaster. But, in this case, I don't have time to woo you with my charms. The federal election is just around the corner and so the time to talk politics has to be now.

My message is simple: vote Green. What do we have to lose? The Green Party will not destroy the country in four years and if, in that time, we don't like what they've done, we can vote them out. But if we don't vote Green, we have so much to lose.

We are in the midst of an environmental crisis, not just a climate crisis. Currently one in four plants and animals are at risk of extinction (UN report). There are five gigantic plastic garbage patches in the oceans; the largest one is one and a half times the size of Ontario (The Ocean Cleanup). One third of the earth's topsoil is moderately to highly degraded due to erosion, nutrient depletion, acidification, urbanization and pollution (aka human activity)(UN report). This is just the tip of the iceberg (we still have some, right?).

Our actions in Canada effect not only our surrounding environment but life all over the world. The Liberals, Progressive Conservatives and the New Democrats have all had an opportunity to create real environmental change. It hasn't happened. Now they need to step aside and give the Green Party a chance.

I will be voting for the Green Party of Canada in the upcoming election. My vote will send a clear message to whatever party forms the next government: I care about environmental issues. If enough people vote Green, the next government will have to listen. Please join me and tell the government you care. Vote Green.

Hi!  I'm Laura and, yes, you've guessed it- I'm interested in helping the earth.  For many years, I've been trying, silently, in my corner of the world to make a difference.   But I recently realized that since the the earth has no voice, I'd better start using mine.
